Hotel Renovation & Rebrand
LAKE PLACID, NY
A 44-room motor inn in Lake Placid, originally built in the 1960s and subsequently altered through piecemeal renovations, was reworked to establish a coherent identity and updated guest experience.
The project combines interior renovation with a full rebranding effort, drawing from the Adirondack Great Camps and the visual language of mid-century American motor inns. The work reorganizes the hotel as a durable, contemporary lodging environment rooted in local context.
Custom millwork, casework, and lighting fixtures were developed throughout. Furnishings were designed for heavy use — capable of withstanding daily wear while improving with age. The material and color palette is restrained, grounding the building within its natural surroundings, with targeted use of color to reinforce identity and wayfinding.
The project was developed in collaboration with Tag Collective, including naming, graphics, signage, and printed materials. FF&E was sourced and assembled through a combination of custom pieces and regional vendors.
